Fr. Christian Dave Remudaro joining the community in the celebration. โ€Ž โ€ŽThrough meditative songs, Scripture, silence, and communal prayer, the participants were invited to reflect on Godโ€™s presence in creation and humanityโ€™s responsibility to care for our common home. The prayer provided a peaceful space for everyone to deepen their faith and recognize water as a precious gift that sustains life. โ€Ž โ€ŽAs the final activity of the launching, the Taizรฉ Prayer served as a reminder that the Season of Creation goes beyond a single celebration. It calls the faithful to turn prayer into action by protecting water, caring for the environment, and becoming responsible stewards of Godโ€™s creation. โ€Ž โ€ŽThe gathering concluded in a spirit of peace, unity, and renewed commitment, sending the participants forth to live out the message of โ€œLiving Waterโ€ through simple yet meaningful actions for the care of our common home. โ€Ž

CALLED, GATHERED, AND SENT: YOUTH EVANGELIZATION 2026

CALLED, GATHERED, AND SENT: YOUTH EVANGELIZATION 2026 The recently concluded Youth Evangelization 2026 brought together young people from different barangays in a meaningful journey of faith, fellowship, and encounter. Guided by the theme โ€œBeloved, Gifted, and Empowered in Mission,โ€ each gathering became an opportunity for the youth to connect, reflect, and recognize the gifts God has entrusted to them. โ€Ž โ€ŽMore than simply an activity, Youth Evangelization aims to bring the Gospel closer to young people, strengthen their relationship with Christ, and encourage them to become active witnesses of faith in their own communities. Through these gatherings, the youth are given a space to listen, share, build friendships, and discover how they can take part in the mission of the Church. โ€Ž โ€ŽAt the same time, this initiative helps establish and strengthen Barangay Youth Ministries by gathering young people within their communities and creating a foundation for continued fellowship, formation, and service. It reminds us that evangelization does not end after one gatheringโ€”it continues through a youth community that walks together, serves together, and grows together in faith. โ€Ž โ€ŽMore than an event, Youth Evangelization reminded us that every young person has a purpose in Godโ€™s plan. We are beloved, gifted, and empowered to share Godโ€™s love and become instruments of His mission wherever we are. โ€Ž โ€Ž โ€Žโ€œLet no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.โ€ โ€Žโ€” 1 Timothy 4:12 โ€Ž โ€Ž โ€ŽMay this experience inspire every young person to confidently answer Godโ€™s call, strengthen the youth ministry in their own barangays, and live out their mission wherever they are sent. โ€Ž โ€ŽChosen. Called. Empowered. Sent. ๐Ÿ™โœจ โ€Ž โ€Ž โ€Ž โ€Ž

The gathering was headed by Rev. Fr. Augustus Calubaquib and Rev. Fr. Christian Dave Remudaro, who joined the participants in giving meaning to the symbolic act. โ€Ž โ€ŽThe Tree of Hope represents the communityโ€™s collective responsibility to nurture creation, just as a tree needs water, care, and protection to grow. It serves as a reminder that every individual has a role in safeguarding the environment and ensuring that the gifts of creationโ€”including waterโ€”remain a source of life for generations to come. โ€Ž โ€ŽMore than a symbolic gesture, the Tree of Hope calls the community to turn commitment into concrete action. As the Season of Creation continues, the parish encourages every organization, family, and young person to take part in caring for our common homeโ€”by conserving water, planting and protecting trees, reducing waste, and inspiring others to do the same. โ€Ž โ€ŽLet the hope we planted today take root in our actions. May it grow through our collective efforts and bear fruit for generations to come. Together, let us protect the gift of creation and allow the message of โ€œLiving Waterโ€ to move from celebration into a lasting way of life. โ€Ž

Through their artworks, the participants portrayed water not simply as a natural resource, but as a precious gift from God that sustains life and calls humanity to become responsible stewards of creation. The activity gathered participants from different levels of education. From the elementary sector, Punta Elementary School was represented by three teams, while San Antonio Elementary School joined with one team. The celebration also welcomed participants from the secondary and tertiary levels. Cagayan State Universityโ€“Aparri Campus sent two teams, while Saint Paul Schools of Aparri and Cagayan Valley Institute, Inc. each participated with one team. Adding to the spirit of fellowship, the church staff of Parokia San Telmo and MEDCOM Aparri 1 also joined the activity and created their own chalk artworks. Their participation emphasized that caring for creation is a shared responsibility that goes beyond age, school, or organization. The Chalk Art Festival aims to deepen awareness of the Christian responsibility to care for creation, particularly the precious gift of water. In the context of the Season of Creation and its theme โ€œLiving Water,โ€ the activity invites everyone to recognize water as essential to all forms of life and as a reminder of God's sustaining love. More than an artistic competition, the festival served as a visual proclamation of faith and ecological responsibility. Every stroke of chalk became an invitation to reflect: How do we value the water that sustains our communities? How do we protect rivers, seas, and other bodies of water? And how can our faith inspire concrete action for the care of our common home? Through Agos 2026, the participants demonstrated that faith can be expressed not only through words and prayers but also through creativity, community participation, and commitment to creation. As the Season of Creation continues, Parokia San Telmo encourages the community to allow the message of โ€œLiving Waterโ€ to flow beyond the chalk drawingsโ€”into homes, schools, communities, and everyday choices. May the waters we receive as a gift become waters we faithfully protect, and may our faith continue to flow toward a renewed and cared-for creation.
