Every Saturday, the members of Coro de Santa Catalina set aside time not only to rehearse, but to pray and grow closer to one another. What began as a group that sings together has become a community that prays, learns, and serves together — offering the gift of music so the faithful can pray more fully at Mass.
Before a single note is sung, the choir begins in prayer. Members offer their time, their voices, and their service to God, asking Him to guide their ministry. Only then do they begin rehearsing — listening closely to one another, helping those who need support, and building the kind of trust that comes from working toward something shared.
The Saturday gatherings are also a time of learning. Members deepen their understanding of the Mass and discover the role sacred music plays in the Church's worship. This formation is a reminder that the choir's purpose goes beyond performance — their role is to help the whole community pray and to lead the assembly in song during the liturgy.
Through listening to one another, sharing their talents, and lifting each other up, the choir members experience something deeper than music: what it means to be Church together. Every member has a part to play, a gift to offer, and a role in the life of the community — a simple but powerful example of what it looks like when people work side by side for a common good.
Week after week, Coro de Santa Catalina continues its journey of faith and service. Through prayer, learning, and music, its members grow closer to one another and to God — preparing, each time, to serve their parish community in the celebration of the Eucharist.
